Dismayed

That constant companion that creates fear and concern — anxiety

A Fearful Life

Imagine a  day when you have some small worry [1. at least it would be small to most people] that so consumed you that while walking about and carrying on the day you were reciting a silent litany of, “please don’t let that happen” or “please let it be okay” . Meanwhile in the outer world you are easily distracted and often clumsy. Extra  diligence and constant mental redirection is necessary simply to keep focused on conversations and tasks at hand.

Keeping Fear In The Rear View Mirror

With all the hooha over the healthcare bill and the fear mongering going on my thoughts turn oddly to a subject of deep personal meaning for me. The subject is actually psychological or emotional abuse and the fine line that is trod by the spiritual communities and by families. Not catching my drift yet? It is complex with no cleanly drawn tidy black and white lines to define the edges of this topic.

Even When Your Voice Trembles

If you are a new reader of this blog you may not have read enough of my earlier posts to know that I am proudly left leaning. I am avidly outspoken against the habit of the ultra conservative evangelical Christian right forcing their religious beliefs upon society by attempting to impose a religion-based legal code on the rest of us. Making Peace with the Woman in the Mirror

For this post I am borrowing one from a favorite Blog I read. It sums up some of my thoughts on aging bodily when my mind is still 30something. For now, I seem to be the size and shape I vowed never to be when I was resigned to being a Rosalind Russell figure rather than an Audrey Hepburn figure. However, the styles I love to wear would look, at this time, more like the work of a tent maker than a tailor.

My Artistic Vision

I want my designs to be unique, touchable, beautiful to see and comfortable to wear. I want designs that endure the current fashion colors and styles so that it will not end up under a pile of newer things by the end of the year. Finally, I want each piece to have an owner out there unknown when I make it but who will ultimately find it and love it.
