The Power of Letting Go

I sit here in front of my open window with the woods full of greened bush honeysuckle and singing birds.  The wind is at breeze strength with a steady motion in the red cedar tree.  It is a beautiful day.  Lovely start to any day.  I note that our  small bat house on the garden shed finally seems to have tenants. Not bats but a small bird not yet identified.  Our bluebird boxes are also occupied and we have rabbits in the stacks and piles of wood from last year’s ice damage.  Although annoying when they raid the bird food we also have a raccoon pair. It is a country kind of place even though I can still see the house on the street behind us.  Three acres, mostly woods, gives us plenty of space.  Although I lament that we did not find, nor could we have afforded, a place with a view of the lake, we are only five minutes to the boat dock and access to one of the loveliest, purest lakes you might find.

Finishing Touches

Well, my new studio is 90% completed and I am moving in. Plenty of changes to tell about including a new location showing my jewelery and some new and wonderful artist friends. I will be back soon to tell all the news. Meanwhile enjoy this peek into my studio.

Wish I had written that

I found this open letter on Facebook…..take time to read it. Great stuff.

"The Russians are Coming"

Here in Arkansas red reflects not only fealty to the Razorbacks but the color of many residents’, both native and transplanted, conservative politics and unflinching-to-the-grave conservative social thinking. With the passage of the health bill I am already seeing Facebook references to the defunct USSR which is the original red thinking. We are a rather oddly voting state in that we tend to vote for Republican presidential candidates while frequently electing Democrats at the state level and as our Senators and Representatives. Although I do not think Blanche Lincoln has served us well from my liberal way of thinking.

My Artistic Vision

I want my designs to be unique, touchable, beautiful to see and comfortable to wear. I want designs that endure the current fashion colors and styles so that it will not end up under a pile of newer things by the end of the year. Finally, I want each piece to have an owner out there unknown when I make it but who will ultimately find it and love it.
