Panaceas, Problems, and Promises

We have an interesting way of informing people about health and medical issues in the United States. Endless advertisements in all media alert us to this illness or that syndrome with lists of symptoms and dire outcomes if untreated or the rapture of relief when treated. This public service is accompanied by beneficent proclamation of a prescription medication that will treat the ailment. The announcement of a treatment comes with urgings to speak to our doctor about that medication followed closely by a hair-raising list of possible side effects.

Bracelet For White Mist of Cotter and the Trout Festival

The annual trout festival is this weekend, so I whipped up a bracelet for the shop. These memory bracelets are popular because they are easy to wear and are attractive. Each is one of a kind. Update: I delivered the bracelet on Friday midday and it was sold on Saturday. Time to make some new and wild summer combinations.

What We Lost Somewhere in the Late Twentieth Century

I was born mid twentieth century. It was an exciting century with so many discoveries and with so much change of attitude and outlook. We made lots of mistakes and incredible steps forward. We threw off stiff backed societal restrictions that expected certain roles for certain people. We began making decisions for ourselves and for our bodies based on our own sets of values and convictions.

My Artistic Vision

I want my designs to be unique, touchable, beautiful to see and comfortable to wear. I want designs that endure the current fashion colors and styles so that it will not end up under a pile of newer things by the end of the year. Finally, I want each piece to have an owner out there unknown when I make it but who will ultimately find it and love it.
